i have three DDR2 rams installed on GA-P31-DS3L Motherboard. but the system uses only 4GB of them, and 2gb is System Reserved.

If you look at the screen shot it is tell you that it is sharing memory with your video card. Plus yes that board will only support 4gb of memory.

But after looking at the screen shot again where is it tell you that system uses only 4GB of them, and 2gb is System Reserved.

By the screen shot you are using all of the memory 6gb. With nothing being shared.

If you are just using it to get on internet, facebook & emails no. You might not need one.

But if you what to keep up with the times yes you need to upgrade. I would look at the Z77 / 1155 series boards.

You can look at the Z87 / 1150 series but look at them really deep. They have been having problems with the new release on those boards.

Plus with the newer boards some of the will support up 64 gb's memory too. If you do go with a Z87 board only get a 2 sticks of memory.

You can get it in 2gb, 4gb & 8gb sticks. They been having problems with 4 sticks on the Z87 boards.
