GA-X58A-UD3R and G.SKILL PIS Series 4GB @ 2200 (17600) help please

Hi,  here is my story, first I got this ram from new egg:  G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) it runs @ 2000 (PC3 16000) but the mobo only detected it @ 1066, enabling X.M.P it would detect  the right timings and speed.  then I got the G.SKILL PIS Series 4GB that run @ 2200 (PC3 17600) but again on default settings it would only detect it as 1066 but now if I enable X.M.P and save and reboot the mobo will not boot.
I did notice on the specs of the mobo that it supports 2200 ram so I'm confused and so i got to couple of questions please:

1.  Are the PIS memories not supported by the mobo? or what do I need to change in the bios to make them work at the right speed?
2. since both of the high speed rams didn't work should I just buy low speed memory like 1066 or 1333? any recommendations?
3.  any guides that I can follow to configure my bios correctly?
4 .  Last non related question, any way that I can disable the ide socket on the mobo from being detected at boot time? I noticed that it always looks for 2 ide devices at boot, and I don't plan to use ide drives so I would like to disable it like in any other mobo out there.

My specs are intel Core 17 930GA-X58A-UD3R
GA-X58A-UD3R
30GB SSD + couple more sata HDDs
8800 Geforce from EVGA
2 sata DVD Drives
Antec 900 case
Antec 750 wattt PS
and the either of the two memories mentioned above.  (links below)

In order for you to reach those spec overclocking will be required. By default it will default to the factory default which is at 1066

Any spec higher will need to be manually configured, through trial and error you will be able to determine at which setting would be the most stable for your system setup. There are overclocking forums where you can relate to for assistant where there will be an community of overclocks and enthusiast will share inputs with you regarding overclocking.

Dear Customer

I can surely help you get your system running properly. The issue you were having is insufficient QPI/VTT Voltage. Although the XMP detected memory settings, the CPU voltages to sustain an overclocked CPU were not embedded in the XMP profile. As a result, manual voltage setting is needed.

With the XMP profile, simply set QPI/DRAM Voltage to 1.60V for DDR3-2000. In order to operate DDR3-2200, it may require slightly more than this so you will need to test for the lowest voltage. Note that you will need to watch CPU temperatures as it can get quite hot with these high voltages. For DDR3-2000+, we suggest aftermarket CPU coolers.

BIOS should look similar to the following:

In MIT (MB Intelligent Tweaker):

CPU Clock Ratio - 21x
QPI Link Speed - AUTO
Base Clock Control - Enabled
BCLK Frequency - 143
Performance Enhance - Standard
Extreme Memory Profile - Disabled
System Memory Multiplier - 14

Uncore & QPI Features
Uncore Frequency - 4000

DRAM Timing Selectable - Manual

CAS Latency Time - 9
tRCD - 9
tRP - 9
tRAS - 24

Enter these for the other three as well.

Channel A Timing Settings

Advanced Timings
Command Rate - 2

Advanced Voltage Control
Load-Line Calibration - Disabled
CPU Vcore - 1.32V
QPI/VTT Voltage - 1.60V
CPU PLL - 1.900V

PCIE - AUTO
QPI PLL - 1.300V
IOH Core - 1.400V
ICH I/O - 1.600V
ICH Core - 1.300V
DRAM Voltage - 1.640V
Rest to AUTO

Let me know how that goes.

Thank you
