GA-Z68XP-UD4 boot loop problem
« on: January 06, 2012, 05:54:10 am »
hi I purchased z68xp-ud4 mb around sept 2011, I built my pc along with 2600k CPU. My pc ran well since it was built.
Last night when I came home, I found that my pc was doing boot looping- system would turn on for few seconds and then turn itself off before monitor gets any signal.  I did some reading from this forum and found out some suggested solutions on boot looping:

method 1- unplug power cable to pc, remove mb battery, drain power by pressing power button few times, and then power the pc again after letting pc cold over night.

method 2- restore main bios with back up bios.

I will try method 1 and 2, but if they do not work, what is my next option?
please help, I am hoping that either CPU or mb isn't damaged as they are expensive to replace.

Hi and welcome.

The chances are that we can get it fixed without too much trouble but if at the end of the day that is not possible all your components should be under warranty still so cost shouldn't be a factor.

Try the two options that you already have and then post back if you still have problems.

hi.

I am happy to say that method 1 worked for me.  For my mb, once it enters boot loop, it needs to be unplugged and left for some time to reset CMOS.
After that I am able to get to BIOS setup screen and restore fail safe setup.  now my pc does not do boot loop.  Had i miss chance to get into bios setup screen, mb will do boot loop again then method 1 needs to repeat.

Thanks
