Ivy-bridge multiplier lock with Z68 chipsets!!!

Ivy-bridge multiplier lock with Z68 chipsets!!!
« on: April 18, 2012, 12:07:23 am »
This is a informative post.

With the imminent release of Ivy-bridge, gigabyte bios does not have 100% compatible with the models "k" for Z68 .... I have a GA-Z68x-UD7/B3 and 3770k processor, and my multiplier is limited to x39.

many users are affected by this problem, so expect a quick response from Gigabyte.

Bye.

Dante444,
you send me i7-3770k and I'll send you new BIOS, 100% compatible with the models "K" for Z68.
Deal?  ;D

Ok,joke at side,
BIOS will be released with official lunch of Ivy Brigde.

Same problem with P67A

It seems that Gigabyte completely forgot the Z68 P67 chipsets for IVY.
They are too busy promoting their Z77.

Asus / msi / asrock dont have this problem...

Any idea if it will be a UEFI bios?  Or just a new Award bios?

Cool... I hope it's soon... ugh, sucks running at stock speeds.

Even, if I changeit to 39x, it seems to stay at 35x.

I hope so too bud! I am really at a point of taking this board and jamming into a bin.

But don't worry, as ex58 said, it will be out with ivy ridge launch...cough.
Expected late 2012.
They got alot of z77 boards to sell.

No support on any gigafail motherboard apart from p77 series for any ivybridge K processor.

So, I talked with GB USA today and he said he is passing my Ivy Bridge Z6ucky8 BIOS issue up to who ever up is from the guy that answers the phone for tech support.  I'd really like a resolution to this sooner rather than later.  Otherwise I'll be doing a lot of complaining about how my board doesn't really support IB.  Of course I could always just buy an Asus and not have this problem.  I just have to find someone who would want to buy my Z68xp UD4 and my SB processor.  So GB, are you listening?  If not I wouldn't expect any enthusiast to be buying your future products, as I know I won't be, because this issue seems like engineers at GB don't think through what problems their end users are going to face even after they say it'll work for a CPU.

Thanks for the vent.
