Title: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD UNLOCK VDDC AND MVDDC ON 7950/7970 !!!
Post by: choco_bn on May 20, 2013, 12:59:57 am
okay so new post for whine about VDDC LOCK ON GV-R795WF3-3GD.

I buy this card with this spec :

Rev 2.0 , bios FX0 ( 1068 mhz gpu @ 1.250v ) and  1300 mhz memory.

After release of FX1 Bios , we can make 1200 mhz Gpu ( always 1.250v) and 1450 memory ( always Mvddc stock = Huh? )

WTF u doing Gigabyte ? another vendor like msi or asus don't lock the voltage control , so why u lock this Huh

iam so bored to run my 7950 @ 1200/1450 on furmark at ONLY 59° !!!

Can u just release a FX2 with THIS VOLTAGE UNLOCK ?

It is not possible, the voltage is hardware-locked...

Plenty of Gigabyte cards for sale on e-bay ONLY a few months old.

I presume the sellers have discovered they cant oc well because of the voltage lock and its very hard to find a full waterblock for the watercooled pc enthusiast due to the non-reference design.

a few other manufacturers are also locking voltages on the GPUs

If you want a un-locked GPU, looks like manufacturers are taking advantage of this now and labelling the box and upping the price.

Such a good card with so much potential but sadly its all access denied

its a bit strange how you pay for something out right but still have restrictions on it ?

I have 2 for sale, very disappointed............

The gpu market is coming like cpu market now, You have to pay extra for the K version lol

I was planning on setting my rig up for full watercool job, cant do much either with the non reference design.

Whats the bloody point of having a GPU overclocking section if you cant oc the card, what a bloody joke

I Denmark this is called false marketing, and can give fines.

if you dont like your card, maybe you could RMA it.

I just dont understand the lack of respect for customers. Gigabyte´s VGA department uses the same tricx as car salesmen.
SURE it can do 150 Mph :)

You buy the car, it only runs 100 Mph.

Saleman : I dident say the reversion of Suzuki swift you bougth could do that.
Its ONLY REVERSION 1.
Now f*** off, and DONT use your car past the speeding limits.....

This is even worse then when you buy a product that has problems, needs updating and such.
This is just design and communication problems....

Im starting to like my Asus Sabertooth Z77 more and more :)

I posted on gigabyte.uk´s facebook page.
They have always been reasonable people, lets hope they will at least update the product information
