Title: Issue with GA-970A-DS3P and RAM Timings
Post by: Archi90 on February 15, 2014, 05:04:42 am
I'm working with a GA-970A-DS3P motherboard that has the UEFI Bios. The CPU is the FX 6300. Memory is Gskill Ares F3-1866C9D-8GAB with 9-10-9-28 timings and 1.5V. After install, bios shows that it auto set to 1600. I have not used the new UEFI bios and am not familiar. Can someone help me with how to manually set to 1866 with 1.5V and 9-10-9-28 timings?

Thank you in advance for your help.

That information is found on page 18 of the downloadable motherboard manual. Enable the XMP profile will set the Memory Clock, Timing, and DRAM voltage. You may have two profiles to choose from. If you don't know how to use the new UEFI bios, try reading the instruction manual.

Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.)
Allows the BIOS to read the SPD data on XMP memory module(s) to enhance memory performance when
enabled.
Disabled Disables this function. (Default)
Profile1 Uses Profile 1 settings.
Profile2 Uses Profile 2 settings

Thank you for the help. Wasn't sure if XMP worked for AMD systems.
