Machine working for over a year running windows 7 pro 64 ... after a windows update/reboot a Dual Bios Corruption error occurred ... automatically restored Bios from dual backup ... however OS wouldn't boot ... so ... restored an as delivered image using Acronis ... this wouldn't boot either ... Vendor tested machine and installed a fresh OS image ... the issue is all the installed software and configurations are lost if I can't restore from backup.
My question is how does a tested/verified backup fail to run on this machine when no hardware has changed?
Did the DUAL Bios restore do something that may have affected the Windows boot up process?

Solved ... apparently the dual BIOS restore changed the BIOS configuration for Sata from AHCI to IDE and Windows 7 refused to boot just because of this change ... had to restore the Acronis image and then change the SATA config back to AHCI before rebooting
