Title: Help with GIGABYTE motherboard + build
Post by: jesua on December 15, 2016, 11:11:35 pm
Hello everyone,

i want to make a new build, basically gaming and here are the parts:

Gigabyte Motherboard H110M-S2PV  (H110/1151/DDR3)
Intel CPU Core i5 6402P (1151/2.80 GHz/6 MB)
Corsair PSU VS Series 650 W 80+ White VS650
Corsair Desktop RAM Vengeance 8GB Kit 1600MHz DDR3
MSI VGA GeForce GTX 1060 Armor OCV1 3GB

As for hard disk i'll probably add HDD instead of SSD.

What do you think? Motherboard is strong enough for this build or should i add another one ? Also, shall i add extra fans for the temperature ?

I really need your opinions :)

The only thing I'm going to point out is the HDD vs SSD. You going to build a nice computer and then use a dead slow HDD. Put in a 120 or 240 SSD with a 1tb HDD. You will much happier with the SSD.

HDD read maybe 150 mb a sec VS the SSD at maybe 375 to 425 mb a sec.

Thank you for your reply!

I thought about this too. Adding both SSD/HDD (already have 1TB HDD) . Which one should i use as main (for windows)?

Motherboard is ok do you think?

Get a SSD and put windows on it. On the 1Tb drive make a Program Files (x86) folder and put all your games in it. When you install the games. They will ask where you want to install. Just change the drive from "C" to what ever the drive letter is on the 1TB drives.

People make a big mistake that they use a 1tb with windows on it. Your OS should be on a small partition like a 120gb or a 240gb SSD. Plus when you do install the OS make sure you have it set to AHCI in the bios for the SSD. Plus everything else looks fine too.

Thank you once again for your reply. I had that in mind too, to install Windows on SSD!

Merry Christmas mate :)
