Title: Intel® USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - stopped working
Post by: AlanJ on April 19, 2017, 11:51:11 am
I had a warning come up on my screen to say there was an over voltage on one of my USB connections and to unplug something but no clue to what is was.

Is there somewhere that this is logged please?

I have been backing up TB's of data on to my external HD via USB 3 this last few days.

Now suddenly the controller is dead.

Tried checking the driver - its ok
Disabled and re enables - No good - still got the icon to say a fault.

Only USB 2 is now working but taking years.

Suspect the Controller chip has fallen over/burnt out sadly.

Any possible suggestions before I have to buy a new board ?

Slot in USB 3 card into the motherboard ???? is it as fast or is it worth it ?

Running win 7 and an i7 with 32Mb of Ram and fast video card.

Any suggestions for a replacement board that will be good with the 3.53 gigahertz Intel Core i73770K

I will probably upgrade to Win10 on a fresh install but sooooo time consuming when you are busy !

Any help would be much appreciated.
