Title: Why I haven't received my activation email after I registered at this Forum?
Post by: runn3R on April 04, 2011, 03:00:27 pm
I want to put some post or use search function at this forum so I tried to register here but I still haven't received my activation email yet. Why?

There are 2 possible reasons for this:

1) Most probably your email provider or ISP (e.g. Google, Yahoo, Virgin, BT, etc.) or email client (e.g. Outlook, Windows Mail, Thunderbird, etc.) treated the activation message as spam and put it into spam folder. In such case check the contents of your spam folder to find the activation message. After finding it please also add the sender to "whitelist" / safe senders list to avoid such problems in future as you may receive some emails from our forum when someone sends you PM (Private Message) for example.

If you still haven't found the activation email, then try to login with the username and password which you choose during registration. Then you will see the following message: "Your email address needs to be validated before you can login." Then click at "Need another activation email?". You should receive activation message shortly.

2) Sometimes (it happens very seldom) there is some communication problem between our and your email servers. We do our best to provide the reliable service at our side but we have no influence on your ISP (Internet Service Provider) infrastructure. You can contact your ISP for help in such situation.

In case you've already tried above mentioned steps with no luck, as the additional option for solving this problem, you can write a message with subject "Forum activation problem" including your username, email and date of registration and send it to this address (http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/upload/files/forum%20email%20address.jpg). I will try to help you :).
