Post by: ecelism on March 22, 2012, 01:58:35 pm
Hi!

The MB was working ok, but at next day it stop after 1 beep at the BIOS screen

G41MT-ES2L  F3

Main Processor  :  Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz(200x13)
<CPUID:0001067A Patch ID:0A07>

<DEL>:BIOS Setup  <F9>:XpressRecovery2  <F12>:Boot Menu  <End>:Qflash

None of the options works, it's just freeze.

If I try to press DEL for example before the beep, at the botton of the screen shows the messege

Prepare to Enter Setup... but does not enter it stay freeze

The same happens with END option, and the options F9 and F12 do not do nothing

I test the Processor, RAM memory, and hard drive and all are ok, I disconect all the devices and nothing,  I clear CMOS and nothing happend

What is happening with the MB? Somebody can help me?

Can you test with another graphics card or the onboard graphics instead, and NO hard drives or CD/DVD drives attached, also remove all USB items

If you get the same, please try clearing the CMOS for a logn time, like overnight.   Unplug the PSU when you do this, and press the power on button on your case for one minutes,  Then remove the CMOS battery,  and put a jumper on the clear CMOS pins, then let it sit this way for 8+ hours.  Then when time is up, remove the jumper, put the battery back, and plug the PSU back in and try it again.

Can you suggest another thing?

Hi

It sounds more like a struggling PSU to me. The single beep after the POST means that it has completed succesfully and so that wouldn't normally warn of a problem. What PSU and other hardware are you running ?

Change the "crappy" power supply with a decent one. The one you have is only 300W which is roughly half the recommended  wattage required.  Never buy a cheap and nasty power supply they can go wrong and take out all you other expensive components at the same time. Purchase a good make like Seasonic, CWT, Corsair, Thermaltake, Enermax, Gigabyte, Coolermaster, Antec, etc and try and get one with a single 12V rail if possible. I would advise you to get one of about 650W minimum depending on your hardware demands. Try swapping it over and it should help.

With all respect, the PSU was working good, and still work fine, I tested it  with other MB and the PSU works fine.

So the PSU is not the problem, the proble is the BIOS! so how can I restore it for this point?

Can you test with another larger PSU just to be sure?  Are you using a PS/2 keyboard when you try to enter the BIOS?  If not, please do, and remove all USB devices.

If you can't get anywhere still, please try the dual BOS recovery manual invoke method via PSU and power switches, the method is outlined at the end of post 2 here.   Keep trying this until you see something new happen on screen, sometimes it's a bit tricky to get working until you have the timing down just right

Did you get the BIOS recovering message?  If not, then you still have not timed it correctly, keep trying.   When it works, you wont see the normal booting images on screen, it will be a black screen with white text only.
