Title: Z77-D3H fan control?
Post by: Markstar on June 24, 2012, 08:01:30 am
Hi,
so I bought the D3H mainly because of the 4 PWM fans, but it seems I can only get the CPU_FAN and SYS_FAN1 to work properly (with Speedfan - EasyTune6 doesn't do anything).

Is there anything I can do to get the other two to work properly (i.e. to adjust  the speed of SYS_FAN2 and SYS_FAN3 depending on temperature) or have I made a mistake by buying this mainboard?

Hi

If you check your manual you will find that the three SYSFAN headers are only voltage controlled whereas the CPU fan is a PWM controlled fan. On page 23 of the manual it shows this.

Yeah, but they are not variable, which is what one would expect when the advertisement says "4 PWM-controlled headers". No distinction is made there. :(

Apparently only sysfan1 is voltage controlled, while 2 and 3 are pwm controlled. It sucks as I'm using 3 pin fans so only one of them can be controlled while the others spin as if it's the end of the world
