Title: Problems with Logitech G510 Keyboard
Post by: scious on May 14, 2012, 11:39:25 pm
I have the GA-Z77X-UD5H motherboard and the computer will not boot with the keyboard attached.  Also, it will not recognise this keyboard in POST operations.

I had to go and buy a $6 keyboard to enter the bios or to get the computer to boot.

Not happy.!

Hi

I am sure that it is nothing to do with a fault with this keyboard simply that it is a USB version.  Normally it just requires a few settings to be changed in the BIOS and make sure that the actual keyboard is connected directly to the rear USB2.0 port on the motherboard.

What makes you think it is a motherboard fault as opposed to an issue with the keyboard or the software/drivers ?

Drivers and softwares are useless in Bios acess.

The keyboard works great with an P55A-UD3R, and an ASUS P5KR.

for the issue look at: http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/28441-gigabyte-latest-beta-bios-599.html (http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/28441-gigabyte-latest-beta-bios-599.html)

Doesn't work on a X79-UD5 (uefi bios)  :(
I called Logitech for this and they said it was a bios problem of my motherboard...

In that case I would suggest contacting GGTS for an updated BIOS. You can reach them here:

or

Please expect several days for a reply.

Well hopefully it won't take too long and they can offer some help in getting it all working together. For some reason certain makes of keyboards  or mice can be troublesome with certain boards/BIOSes.

After 2 days, I received an answer from the GGTS :)
They told me to update the bios to version F10c, which I did and that worked :)

A few days ago I bought a new Grafical Card a GTX670.
I had many probs with that card, red screens, unstable, etc.
On an other forum they suggested me to upgrade my bios to the latest beta, F12, which I did too.

My graphical card works perfectly now, but... I can't enter the bios anymore with my Logitech G510  ???

(I will sent an new request for this on GGTS)

Make sure that you have Legacy USB Devices enabled in the BIOS.

Yeah, I know, the legacy usb devices ARE enabled... pfff...
Its a strange thing, because once I entered the bios (with a cheap keyboard), I can choose/change settings with my G510.
But I just cant enter it with the DEL key  ???

I already sent a new request, but it seems the GGTS don't figured it out by them selves yet.
They claimed that it should work with bios F12, but not mine, and neither my friends board (he has the same motherboard as I have)

Totally for your information after reading your last post in case you are unaware you mustn't plug/unplug a keyboard when the machine is powered up if it is a PS2 version or you can blow the controller. USB versions are ok but it can cause confusion between the two.

Logitech has always had issues with several makes of motherboard but usually it is cured with an update of BIOS or drivers.

I have G510 keyboard and G700 mouse and problem with Z77 FTW motherboard.

It's not only Z77 FTW, many peoples with others ASrock, GIGABYTE and other motherboards ... have identical problem like me, We can't go in BIOS or use G510 and maybe G19 and maybe some other keyboards.

Keyboard is dead until desktop. Where is problem and who plan to help us to resolve that.

For now only options I see is cross to Steelseries. This is last options for because I use G510 over year and I am very satisfied.

But this things are inadmissible for this top gaming HW.

Who resolve problem and how???

I try with and without aoftwares with keyboard.

Any sugestions, advice...??? G510 is one of keyboards with little problems and I choose because of that like G700, but this is big issue now.
