GA-965P-S3 won't POST or boot

Any ideas here?

Friend has one of these with a Core2 Duo and GTX260, 2gb memory on the board. Has been fine for years, but recently when he powers it on, the fans spin and stop, spin and stop.. No video, no post, no beeps.

Very occasionally, it will come on.

I suspected power supply so we replaced it. Same thing. Removed it from case, same thing. Stripped all components off the board, same thing. Replaced CPU - same thing. We've tried 3 power supplies, 2 video cards and 2 CPUs.

Before we junk it, any thoughts here? Been a while since I was interested in PC innards, just wondering if I'm missing something obvious (tho given the level I've stripped it down to, I'm at a loss to think what that could be...)

Thanks

Did you notice if any of the caps ends were bulging?  Or leaking goop onto the motherboard from the bottoms of the caps?

Sounds like maybe it died of old age

Sorry meant to add that I'd given the board a visual check and nothing at all appeared to be out of order.

I'm guessing old-age too..
