P55A-UD3 internal speaker single beeps

Why is it that my P55A-UD3 internal speaker occasionally emits a single beep when Win7 Home Premium is just stilling at the Windows desktop?

Hi,
Sounds like it may be an audible alarm for temps set up in your BIOS. You could check your BIOS and see if there are temperature thresholds set for GPU and/or CPU temps and if the BIOS is configured to emit beep alarms when those set thresholds are exceeded.

There is a threshold but the CPU temperature is far below that setting and there is nothing for the GPU. I would of thought that an alarm of that would be a series of rapid beeps rather than one solitary beep from the speaker.

Give some details of your system
Is the temp setting too low, That May cause a beep
Some hard drives emit a beep when defective
seems like it's trying to tell you something is not right somewhere
Check all connections are sound on hardware and drives

System is a P55A-UD3 w P4 BIOS using a i5-750 and Corsair XMS3 memory in a Coolermaster Centurion case. Using a WD Cavair Green 500 GB hard drive (new) which was also spinrited. There is no overclocking being done. CPU temp is alarm is set to 80C. Normal running temp is 43C.

I got the exact same problem with mine. Thought i was alone. Got p55A-UD3 with i5-750 and corsair XMS3 memory as you. Heard that the motherboard warns if the cpu-coolers rpm get  below 1000. Mine is at 1011 rpm in idle. I only hear this beeps in idle so maybe its because the rpm pass 1000 for a short period?

Yea could be what you say,
Is it possible to test this out by using speedfan and setting the cpu fan speed below 1000?
Or would slightly pressing the cpu fan center gently to stall the fan ?
 (hands on brigade)
Anybody got any suggestions???

Turn off the smart cpu fan speed control?

Hi,

Just realized that i tried without the smart fan control and forcing the fan to spin at full speed. I still got the beeps. Allthough i get strange readings in hw-monitor. Cause somtimes it sais that the min. rpm for the fan has been as low as zero rpm. Im pretty sure that the fan is running constantly so maybe its bad connection through the cable or something?

How can i force the fan to get below 1000 without sticking my belongings in it?

I really think there is something in Windows doing this beeping rather than the hardware. I left the the system sitting in the bios system health page and I never heard a beep in one hour. I rebooted and within minutes the darn system beeped!

Yes, i think we can rule out the fan theory too. Im using Windows 7 professional.

What i've noticed is that the voltage over the memory is set to 1,5v but appears to be as high as 1,584v. Isn't that a little bit too high?

yeah, i read about the corsair voltage problems. I heard that it should be set to 1,65v but the label on mine sais 1,5v. Of what i understand its because it is originally a 1066 memory and it needs 1,65v to run stable on 1333. never tried to raise the voltage, maybe i should?

seems like many people got problems with GA-P55 and and that corsair model. No freezes or BSOD yet, but im waiting.
