EX58-UD3R update for ahci bios?

EX58-UD3R update for ahci bios?
« on: January 23, 2010, 02:19:49 am »
Hi all this is my cherry post so be nice ;) I'm not sure if this thread is best placed here or in the modding section but anyway here goes...

As per title really was just wondering if anyone knows if the ahci bios for the EX58-UD3R will be updated (or perhaps a beta bios is available?) to help reduce post time.  My board currently has ahci bios 1.07 dated 2003-2006 and after some google action I have seen some other gigabyte boards being updated to 1.20E resulting in a 10 sec reduction in post time.

Any feedback/info is appreciated.

Does no one else have this problem of a long post due to the ahci bios taking ages?

Hi,
You could request to the tech services,
how long is it taking to post?
Cheers

Hi,

request to the tech services? I was thinking about sending them an email via the website to see if they was any official response on this.

Its not a problem as such as everything works fine but whn the board is in the ahci/raid mode rather than IDE there is a good 10 secs added to the post sequence.  The ahci bios itself is very old and a newer version has been released for older gigabyte boards reducing the post time

Hi,
Yes might be a good idea,
at least you will have something from the horses mouth, so to speak,
I find my mobo takes longer to boot since my last bios update, and it turned out to be scanning all usb devices during post routine, but it's only 8 secs, and seen as I only switch it on once a day WTH
Let us know any responce you get please,
cheers
Ps just found this site regarding bios mods (ex greyno3)

May be worth a look,

Problem sorted  :)

I got the latest bios for my board and the ahci update was included so the post is now 10 seconds faster plus there is some new settings in the bios to tweak.

Funny thing is the box for my board says revision 1.0, cpuz says 13 but it is actually 1.6/1.7 hhmm
