Gigabyte z87x d3h boot problem
« on: August 08, 2013, 11:43:44 am »
Hi to all

My first post, yes I have an issue with the MB

Well I installed it in the case, connected all cables and set to boot.
So I press the power up button and it powers on for about a sec the powers off.
I try to sort the CMOS jumper, same thing.
I can't get it to power on stably.
I am suspecting my psu, it is a corsair cx500 80+.
Also in the manual it says a minimum of 500w psu should be working with this motherboard.
I took just one dimm of ddr3 ram took all optional fans on, left the on board graphics on an ssd drive and a dvdrw.
CPU cooler seidon 120m.
That's all
It should boot but it fires up for a sec.
Damn, any help would be much appreciated
Thanks

Maou

I would suspect the PSU first as well, see if you can borrow another to double check it.

I actually had a fried haswell chip that did this, the socket had bent pins that I didn't notice (no idea how that happened I'm very careful) and on my first build it damaged the cpu,(at least that's what I believe happened) I had to RMA both MB and CPU.I think I got lucky on the RMA and Newegg approved both, but no guarantees.
