GA-Z77X-UD5H rev 1.0 Intel nic problem
« on: June 29, 2013, 10:41:10 pm »
Hi, I got some problems with Intel 82579V Gigabit NIC on my GA-Z77X-UD5H mainboard, after latest windows updates I noticed that after logon sequence network connection remains down.

I checked on device managent and found nic disabled, entering properties show these messages:
Unable to start device (Code 10)
{Operation failed}
Requested operation failed.

I tried to check interface configuration via CLI with ipconfig command, it returns as the interface was disconnected from network, the same with in "ipconfig /renew" command.

Checking event log I found events like this (translated from italian):
Code: [Select]
Registry: System
Origin:       e1cexpress
Date:          29/06/2013 22.19.13
Event ID:     24
Activity type: None
Level:       Error
Keyword: Classic
User:        N/D
Computer:      <computer hostname>
Description:
Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection
PROBLEM: Unable to start network interface
SOLUTION: Install latest driver from "http://www.intel.com/support/go/network/adapter/home.htm".

I already got the latest driver version (from official Intel website)

I found a workaround that seems to restore network connection, disable and enable interface from windows device management sometimes fix the problem, sometimes I need to uninstall nic and then make OS detect it to restore network connection.
Unplug and plug network cable seems to not fix the problem.

GA-Z77X-UD5H revision is 1.0 bios F14
OS: Windows 8 Professional x64 (last update on 27/06/2013, problem started today 29/06/2013)

Is there anybody who experienced the same problem?
Suggestions?

Thanks for help

GA-Z77X-UD5H (rev. 1.0)
http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4139#ov

Manual:
http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-z77x-ud5h_e.pdf

You have a
Qualcomm Atheros AR8151 GBE LAN...

So you have a drivers on this web page:
http://www.qca.qualcomm.com/corporate/content.php?nav1=146
AR813X AR815X Family Drivers
Choose WIN_ file....
you obtain this file:
AR813x_AR815x_v2.1.0.17_WHQL.rar

Keep again your Intel drivers...

Otherwise try with bios F15q

You use VMWare... so is not a real install...
So try my suggestions, and come here with news...
