« on: December 21, 2013, 12:28:17 pm »
Model Name : GA-X58A-UD5(rev. 2.0)
BIOS Ver : FE and Default settings

Video card : Gigabyte GTX 460 SE
CPU : Intel i7-950
Memory : 2x4 GB Kit Corsair Vengeance DDR3 PC1600 CL9 and 2x3 GB Kit Corsair DDR3 PC1600 C9
Power Supply : Cooler Master 650 W
Operation System : Win 7 64-bit

I bought new ram kit 2x4 GB Kit Corsair Vengeance DDR3 PC1600 CL9  I can install 2 x 4GB DDR3  in slots DDR3_3 and DDR3_5  the computer boot up successfully ( or other combination)  .However, if I add ( other ram kit 2x3GB )  memory slots in DDR3_2, DDR3_4 and DDR3_6  ( I've tried all slots combinations ) the computer is starting after 3 restart. What is problem ?

I had the same problem with one of those boards. But the thing is that the white slots are your main slots.

The white slot are 1, 3, & 5. 1 would the one hear the CPU. Blue slots are 2, 4, & 6.

By the picture your memory doesn't look like they are the type of memory.

Memory has to be the same brand speed and cashe for it to work right.

Have you just tried the white slots only? You can run the board dual channel or 3 channel. If you can't run the memory in slot one.

Then that could be the problem. Memory has to been in slot one no matter now you run. That might be why it is doing what it is doing.

I had 3x2GB kit ram. With this ram I had no problems.when I bought 2x4GB kit new ram and with 3x2GB + 2x4GB ram installed i see this problem.

Yes i must use dual and triple channel. Because I have now 3x2GB Triple and 2x4GB dual

If you what to run them they have to be in the 1st 4 slots from the CPU. Put the 2x3gb in slot 2 & 4 Put the 2x4gb in slot 1 & 3.

Looking at the board the slot run from the CPU to the edge of the board are: 2-1-4-3-6-5. That is b-w-b-w-b-w

Like I said I had the same problem one time. I sent it back to Gigabyte and they fix it.

Can you just put the 3 x 2gb into white slots 1 3 & 5 and see if boots. Then put the sticks in the 3 blue slots to see if boots.

It boots in in either of the two setups. Then I would put the memory back in the 3 white slots.

Then take one stick of the other memory and try it in all the blue slots one slot at a time.

You might not be able to run all 5 sticks. By what I'm seeing in the book it is 2 sticks, 3 sticks, 4 sticks or 6 sticks.

That is "1 & 3" - "1 3 & 5" - "1 2 3 & 4" - "1 2 3 & 5" - "1 2 3 4 5 & 6"

These board were made to really run triple data memory. Yes it says that you can run dual channel.

First of all I want to thank everyone who helps to people who are facing problems.

My PC configuration:

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz
M/B: GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD5 rev.2.0 BIOS FF3
DRAM: Kingston KVR1333D3N9K3/6G 6GB PC3-10600 CL9 240-pin DIMM Kit (3x2GB) - 2 kits
Graphics: GIGABYTE GV-R577SO-1GD ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 (6.1) Ultimate Edition 64-bit Service Pack 1 (Build 7601)

After spent a lot of time I was not able to solve the problem with the detecting of DRAM size. After power up the memory detected only for channel 1 and 2 - 8GB instead 12 GB. After rebooting the memory size recognized correct - 12GB, but when Windows starts up I have BSOD.

And I thought I found the problem and solved it - bended pins.
But it did not help. And finally I was able to solve the problem after the fifth attempt to correct pin position (pin №1, see picture).

I sincerely believe that DRAM detecting problems are almost always associated with poor contact between the processor and memory modules: 1. Bent pin/s on the processor socket; 2. Bad contact in the memory module slot.

First pin (see picture). This pin was turned outwards. When I turned it back, I was not able to position it as needed (see picture). So I still had a problems with memory. In the end I lifted up the pin  a bit with a small tweezers taking pins base, and then pressed at the end of the pin with a small screwdriver to position pin in the desired position.
The second pin caused fewer problems.

After the performed operations the memory detected with no problems.
