Unable to open any boot sequence options on Gigabyte GA-970a!!!
« on: January 14, 2015, 08:27:00 pm »
Hello all. I'm at my wits end and I have no idea how to fix this problem. Been having problems with a network error but I am unable to fix it. Because of this, I have decided to reinstall Windows 7 via usb. However, when I try to access the boot options (f12) it just crashes and does nothing. Same for any of the other boot options. But my current operating system will boot perfectly fine if not touched. Will happily provide any specs or additional information if needed

Are you using a USB keyboard or a ps2 also have you tried tapping the delete button right after starting to enter bios?

It is a usb keyboard, but it has worked fine before. Its not that it doesn't register the button. It's recognizes it but then instantly goes black and stays that way until I physically turn it off. And the same thing also happens when I press delete

I understand that it worked before I would like you to try a ps2 keyboard and see what happens then. If it works then either your keyboard or USB ports caused it then . Take a USB drive and put into each USB port to rule them out.

I will be buying a ps2 keyboard and I will report back with how it goes :) I just find it suspiscious that this is happening at the same time my network adapter messes up. I think I need to take it to a repair shop and see if they can determine that its Definately the motherboard :/
