BIOS doesn't see internal DVD drive that Windows does
« on: May 27, 2015, 06:47:16 am »
About three weeks into a GA-Z97-UD5H-BK board and i5-4690. F7 BIOS, Win 8.1 Pro x64. Problems with a new SSD sent me to BIOS setup a lot today. During those visits, I noticed that BIOS setup rarely lists the internal DVD drive under boot options - only once out of roughly 20 visits - but it is seen by Windows.  Is there a fix for this?
Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 (Rev. 1.3), UEFI BIOS
Intel i7 2600K
16 GB G.Skill DDR3 2133 RAM (Ares 2x4gb, Sniper 2x4gb)
Sapphire HD7750 Ultimate video
Prolimatech Megahalems Rev. C cooler
Kingwin LWP-550 PSU
Plextor MB3 Pro 128GB
Seagate 3TB & 1TB & WD 750GB HDDs
Dell U2412M Monitor

Update: I got the cloned drive to boot, but since then in BIOS settings none oif the other three HDDs nor the DVD drive are being seen in BIOS Features and only two of those three HDDs (+ the system drive) are being seen in Peripherals. Everything is seen in Windows and Partition Mgr. What might be going on?
