Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti G1 crash when PC is IDLE
« on: June 21, 2015, 05:37:36 am »
Hey. Me and my friend both bought a GTX 980 Ti G1s. And we both are experiencing "driver crashed and recovered" when the PC is IDLE - browsing internet, Skype. There is no crash when there is a movie running or 3D game is playing. It only happens when the PC is IDLE - internet/skype. I have also tried a modded bios with increased voltage tweaks but it still crashes in IDLE. My PSU is OCZ ZX 1250w. I had a 780 Ti for 2 years and never such a problem in IDLE. I think gigabyte might need a new bios for these cards or something because this is really annoying. We are both thinking of returning the cards soon if there is no fix. It is kind of sad because this was the most anticipated card from the 980 Ti series...

My friend is using Win 8, im using Win 7. Both of us are using 353.12 drivers.

Try with the latest 353.38 driver instead.

Hi. I get the same as Torden, and just installed the latest 353.38 driver.

Can't go longer than 10 mins before it crashes my system or blue screens. No matter what I'm doing.

All these issues stop as soon as I remove the graphics card, and use my motherboard's onboard.

Getting frustrated now as paid over $1K here in AUS for mine, and it doesn't even work properly!  >:(
