Upgraded ga990fxa-ud3 to ver. 4.1 and Can't Boot Into Windows

I was having NB heat issues on my ver. 1 board and upgraded to 4.1.  I was hoping to just swap the board and go but that hasn't been the case.

Windows 7 won't load and Repair won't remedy the issue.  I'm guessing the issue is differences in some MB components and the associated drivers.

I'll be loading Windows 10 later in July and would love to be able to proceed in the short term without having to do a clean Win 7 install and loss of the current profiles.

Any suggestions or direction are greatly appreciated.

Your motherboard,GA-990FXA-UD3
What version is it?
1.0, 1.1, 1.2,3.0 , 4.0 or 4.1?
If 1.0,1.1,1.2,3.0,
then you've installed the wrong bios!

I did not adjust the bios on the new board.  The MB posts and I can enter the bios - no issues there.  Problem is that Win 7 will not load.  I get the Windows splash screen but receive a message that there is a problem.  Repair then kicks in but is unable to remedy the issue.

Old board is 1.1
New board is 4.1

4.1 has an AMI EFI BIOS.

1.1 has a legacy AWARD BIOS.

Reinstall and call Microsoft and tell them the old one was broken if you have an activation problem.
1) GA-Z97X-Gaming 7, G3258,
2) GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev. 1.1, FX-8350
3) GA-AM1M-S2P, Sempron 3850 Kabini

There was no clean reinstall of Windows 7 necessary.  Following the instructions found here, I was up and running inside 15 minutes.  Should anyone else have a similar issue, this did the trick.
