Brix GB-BXBT-2807 will not start after BIOS update
« on: August 17, 2015, 08:54:04 pm »
Hi,

My Brix will not restart after I attempted to update the BIOS (I suspect I made a mistake and did not follow the upgrade PDF instructions well enough).

The blue power light comes on, but nothing on the screen (HDMI). I have taken the CMOS battery out and unplugged the power cable in an attempt to 'reset' the BIOS - but without success.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks

Chris

I had the same thing happen when updating to the latest F8 firmware on the GB-BXBT-2807.  Tried resetting the CMOS.  Tried downgrading the BIOS to an old version by booting to a USB drive and nothing happened.  This BRIX is "bricked."

Hello,

Please unplug battery and short pin to clear the CMOS. If this doens't help please RMA the Brix.

Man..  the manual for the Brix is "brief"..   like a 1 pager  :)

So have you guys tried taping the "Del" key after starting...  ??

Also, I'd try disconnecting the boot drive while testing this.
