GA-990FXA-UD3. USB ports not working.
« on: August 24, 2015, 05:39:36 pm »
Hi, sorry for my english.

I have a GA-990FXA-UD3 ver 3.0.  The system not boot, only appear the image "Gigabyte" with options .
Bios (del), F8, F12 and Q-Flash but I can not choose the option ! because my keyboard and mouse USB not working.
I try in all ports USB 2.0 and USB 3,0 but not lucky. :(

I try with other 2 keyboards  USB diferents ( these working in other PC)   but not working.   :(

I cleared CMOS with the jumper and  I removed the battery also. But when boot I can not choose the option .  "Load optimize defaults"...... my keyboard not working.

Please, I'm desperate.
Thanks for your support. :)

Thanks for your support.

I tested only with memory, CPU and VGA, I continued with the problem.
I tested with another power supply and memory. The VGA working successfully in another PC.

I tested with PS2 Keyboard, now I enter in Bios, in Bios I checked the parameter "Legacy USB " is enabled, but the ports USB not working.

I can see in Bios the CPU (fx-8320), memory (1600 MHz) the system is detected it.

Now when I started the system not found my Windows disk. In Bios I can see my disk but my system not started.
Also the ports USB not working.

I try to update with Q-Flash the firmware in the stick USB but Q-Flash not found the drive. Is strange because in Bios I can see this USB.

There are 2 issues,

1) The usb ports not working.
2) The motherboard not found any disk, DVD..

Also I load defaults settings, and optimize settings, my own configuration not successfully....

Please help me, I hope that the motherboard has not been broken, I need the computer..

thanks for your support.

Several suggestions:

- Disconnect any cables connected to the usb ports  on the motherboard. I've seen a shorted USB cable cause erratic behavior. You might even disconnect the USB mouse (and any other USB devices) for testing.

- Check very carefully underneath the board to make sure there isn't a standoff in the wrong position shorting something out. You could even remove the motherboard from the case for testing if you are careful.

- Try clearing the bios.

- If you can access the bios, try setting the SATA ports to IDE mode (AHCI mode requires a proper driver be installed).

I hope this helps.
