I updated to F7 and I see no reason to go any further. Gigabyte is horrible with providing a change log to even tell you what's been updated other then generic statements such as "improved hard drive support". I want the damn details before I risk a BIOS flash.

So updating your BIOS may not solve your problem. I think you probably have a hardware device causing the freeze.

You don't happen to have a wireless mouse/trackball do you? If so the receiver must be moved away from USB 3.0 ports with an extension cable.

There is a known issue that when you have Sata drives connected to MB it won't boot into the BIOS.
It is not freezing, simply not showing video. On my board the 2 digit display was showing "A09" with is normal state when in BIOS.
Since I updated to BIOS F9b it was solved.
Before that i had to disconnect drives…

To avoid confusion the F9b on maczouzie's X99 UD7WIFI  is the equivalent of our F10d BIOS on the Gaming G1.

BTW mathew600 if you posted your specs maybe somebody could better assist you.
