Hi there!
I've got the new cells. After replacement my laptop totally ignores battery presence.
The charge controller has a TI BQ20Z45 chip onboard. This little bastard remembers everything that happens to your battery and if you disconnect all the cells, it sets a FAILURE flag in internal memory and prevents battery from charge and discharge forever. Some people try to reset this flag with special hardware, but the access to internal memory requires a password. All manufacturers do this.
So, use your laptop with original battery while you can. Ad if you can't, no one cares. Good luck!

Ok, not good news, then... Seems our laptops are now under-powered desktops. Shame. No more Gigabyte products for me, that's for sure.

All manufacturers behave the same way. Actually, you don't have a choice.

Ran into this thread after the GNC-J40 battery bloated and died.

This battery model is out of stock everywhere. I'm abroad and rely on the laptop for work so there is no chance for me to send it anywhere for a long period of time

Is there no solution to this?????

The GNC-C30 is now available on aliexpress .. They have these available now and then .. last time I replaced my battery and it worked fine - but I think 100 US is now more than my U2442N's value.

I am glad to report that the GNC-C30 battery I bought from laptop-battery-shop.com arrived today and it's indeed real ... at the time when I am typing the post, the laptop has been running for 3 hours with 1.5 more to go.  However, the battery does not look genuine at all with a slightly deformed surface, broken screw washer and plastic cover, but those things are the least I am caring for right now. Happy another two years usage of my P34G! :D

thank you people of the Internet.
I've owned a P34 for several years now and since about 2 years ago I gave up on having a battery. Since then it's been a portable desktop computer to me.

I went ahead and bought the Schenker GNC-C30 from https://www.laptop-battery-shop.com and it worked. Shipped to Mexico and took 12 days from the moment I clicked "buy" to the moment I received it.

Battery size was perfect and I get ~3h30m of battery on regular browsing use. Not amazing but a huge step up from my portable desktop.

I managed to buy a GNC-30 too from laptop-battery-shop, as expected it's 5-7% damaged already just because it was manufactured years ago and sitting in storage.

That said I'm having an issue where the laptop will only start from power off if the charger cable is in, as soon as windows boots I can pull the cable out and the laptop will continue on battery fine but for some reason it won't cold boot on battery... any ideas?
