Z170X-UD3 Rev. 1 sound not working - at all

My system is as follows:

Z170X-UD3 Rev. 1
Intel i7-6700K
GSkill DDR4 RAM, 3000MHz, 2x8GB
Windows 10 Pro

Windows indicates that there is no audio device installed.  Device manager indicates that there is a "Multimedia Audio Controller", but that no drivers have been installed.  I HAVE however installed the Realtek driver that came with the motherboard's driver and software disc, and I have ran it again, and it does indicate that a driver is installed.

Is this an issue with the motherboard itself?  Or is there something I can do to get the sound working?

For anyone with this motherboard who may have a similar problem, I have solved it.

My motherboard was on BIOS version F2.  NOTHING I did under that version of the BIOS could get my sound working, including manually installing and selecting the correct driver for the device.

Updating to BIOS version F6 solved everything.
