Gigabyte x99 gaming 7 wifi - error code A0
« on: April 25, 2016, 04:04:09 pm »
I am having the error code A0 now and then after i installed a samsung 950 pro 512GB on a pci lane using an expansion card to mount the driver.
The screen goes black and i get the A0 code i press reboot manualy (nothing happens for 5-6sec) then it reboots and everything is fine till i get the error again. (i am also getting a BAD_POOL_HEADER error now and then- ''i did reassemble my pc and did format the system just for the BAD_POOL_HEADER error'').

I am running F7 bios since most of the released bioses are beta on this mobo. i am using an samsung 950 pro 512GB for boot driver and an samsung 850 1TB for storage. The boot driver is on a SilverStone ECM20 PCI to M.2 expansion card.

SilverStone ECM20 PCI to M.2 expansion card.

I have two of them. The only way I can get it to work is using the Sata side of the card with 1 M2 drive install. Can you use the M2 on the board?

So far I have found using those kinds of cards only some of the M2 drives work with them. Do you have both of the M2 drives on the card?

AO it is having a problem finding the drives. That is why you are getting the error. Do you have them set to IDE or AHCI?

Yea some times when i boot the system seems unable to fin the driver i just power of close the psu and draw the power out then open the psu and boot again then it can find the driver (this is not happening offten).

I got the sata on AHCI.

The 950 pro is the only m.2 driver and its the only one i am having on the expansion card the other driver is a 850 ssd 2,5 form factor (so i have only the one slot full on the card the ''M key'').

I will try using the sata connection. since i am not using the sata connection just the pci.

The sata 3 connector had no effect at all  :-[ . I am still getting the same error. I think i will have to change motherboard and get one with m.2 gen 3.0 .
The only problem i want the new motherboard to have a usb 3.1.2 port and the only one with such port is too expensive to buy atm.  :(
