Video signal issues

Video signal issues
« on: June 28, 2016, 06:14:26 pm »
Hello everyone,

I apologize in advance if I'm in the wrong place, but I don't know where else to go.

I'm having some serious issues with a new computer I just put together. Two of the products are GIGABYTE products (video card and motherboard), so that is why I'm here.

Below are all the parts (excluding the case) that I ordered:

Video Card: GIGABYTE Radeon R9 380X DirectX 12 GV-R938XG1 GAMING-4GD 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 ATX Video Card
Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower PS-TPD-0550MPCGUS-1 550W 80 PLUS Gold ATX12V 2.3 & EPS12V 2.92 Power Supply
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H110M-A LGA1151 H110 USB 3.0 Micro ATX Motherboard
Blu-ray Player: ASUS Black 12X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA Internal Blu-ray Drive Model BC-12B1ST/BLK/B/AS – OEM
Hard Drive: Seagate 2TB Desktop HDD SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive (ST2000DM001)
Processor: Intel Core i3-6100 Skylake Processor 3.7GHz 8.0GT/s 3MB LGA 1151 CPU
Memory: G.SKILL Aegis 8GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Intel Z170 Platform / Intel X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-2133C15S-8GIS

So, hear me out:
1) After putting everything together, I receive no video. I used both the onboard HDMI port as well as the HDMI port on the video card, still nothing.
2) I plug everything back into my old computer, the monitor and HDMI cable work just fine.
3) When I ordered my GIGABYTE motherboard, I accidentally ordered two of them. So, figuring it could be a motherboard issue, I replaced the new motherboard with another new motherboard (same exact model and everything).
4) After replacing the motherboard I still have no video from both ports.
5) I removed the video card and just tried the onboard video, figuring that maybe the onboard video wouldn't work if the PCI slot was filled. Video still didn't work.
6) I put the new video card into my old computer and the video card works fine.

Something must be happening here. If it isn't the HDMI cable, the monitor, the motherboard, or the video card, what else could possibly be the issue? Thank you for your time in advance.

Hi,

I have a similar situation.....
I'd like to boot without any monitor plugged on it.
But the MoBo H110M-H DDR3 only boots with a VGA plugged on it.

Hi,
I tested mine with HDMI video.
- When the HDMI cable is not connected in a monitor, the MoBo didn't boot.
- When the HDMI cable is conected in a monitor and the MoBo, sometimes the signal is not in the HDMI, sometime is, but the MoBo boots.

I know when the MoBo boots without a monitor because I plugged the speaker on it. ;-)
