Gigabyte Radeon R9 390 G1 - DisplayPort wont boot
« on: July 23, 2016, 10:51:14 am »
Greetings !
I went away from home for 3 days, and when i got back my PC would not boot. In the meantime i found out what the problem was, first i thought is a MB issue.
The topic posted on MSI forums:
https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=273305.0

After discussions on that forum i decided to ask your opinion, because seems to be a GPU problem instead of a MB one.
When i came back from my 3 days journey, the PC wouldn't boot, but it worked perfectly before i left home.
Problem seems to be the DisplayPort, because after i connected the DVI cable to the monitor booting started.
I have uninstalled all AMD drivers and installed the latest from AMD site (same driver as before i left home), i have reset the bios and load optimized settings, but still with DP cable the PC wont boot and i get the 1 long beep, 2 short beeps error. Now i`m running the PC with the DVI cable, but still i want to get back to the DP.
I was thinking the GPU's Bios might be old, what do you suggest i do next ?

Thank you.

I`m telling you i won't buy Gigabyte products in my life.
My post hangs there for almost a week without any reply, and there are many more other posts older than mine without responses.
I mean come on, no one from Gigabyte is assigned to that official forum?
