HA-170N-WIFI: No POST, Reboot Loop
« on: July 23, 2016, 12:41:06 pm »
I have the following connected:

- HA-170N-WIFI
- Intel i7-6700
- Noctura Low-Profile CPU Cooler NH-L9I
- 160W nanoPSU (also tried 200W PSU)
- Streacom F1C Mini ITX HTPC Chassis
- DVI-D monitor (connected to onboard graphics)
- No RAM installed, No graphics card, No SSD installed, no keyboard attached

Turn on from the case, and the case light + 3 orange LEDs by the CMOS battery light up for ~15 seconds. Then it shuts off for 5 seconds, then turns back on and repeats on/off indefinitely. If I use a 200W PSU, then it power cycles the same but is on for 5 seconds, off for 2-3 seconds.

I've tried a different fan and PSU but all seems to respond the same.

* Monitor never indicates that it has a signal.
* USB ports never get power so I can't seem to upgrade BIOS
* I've unplugged the CMOS battery for over 30 seconds, I've also tried jumping the CLR_CMOS pins

Any other suggestions?

I wish I could help but all I can do is commiserate. Am having the exact same problem with different hardware. You may want to check the suggestions on my post which is near yours on the list. I will keep an eye on yours as well.

Hi there,

according to the User's Manual (page 14) for this motherboard, it is recommended that a PSU of at least 500 Watts is used. Can you try using a more powerful PSU?

You will also need to add at least one stick of RAM to the equation as, without it, the system will be throwing a memory error too.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.
