GA-H77m-d3h(rev 1.1) freezes while playing
« on: August 28, 2016, 12:25:01 am »
I read this topic   http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php?topic=8885.105
I have a gigabyte 1070 g1 graphica card(from gtx 650 ti boost i got same problem)
Intel i5 3470
bios version F12

I realized I had the graphics pricked in PCIX16 (PCIEX4), then switch to PCIEX16 but the screen goes black, looking for a solution because it is black I found I had to change the bios option "Init Display First "= PGE (I have auto by default).
I do this and save the change and return to the bios I realize that the option remains in auto then the problem is I can not use PCIEX16 because of this bug.
How can i fix this?(My English is bad, I hope all can understand what I mean.

So what you are saying you get this with both cards or just the new one? Plus when did you update the bios? If you just updated the bios.

Unplug the power from the computer.

Pull the battery and clear the cmos for about 5 mins.

Put the battery back in and unclear the cmos.

Then go in and set it to default settings save and exit.

Then see what happens. Make sure you go back in and set the time, date, and any thing else you need to set.

There is another person with basically the same problem that posted today. I wasn't going saying any yet. But it might be that the boards don't support the cards. Plus any time you update the bios you should clear the cmos and set it to default settings.

Like you said, might just be that the board doesn't support this card.  I'd be very disappointed though if that's the case, considering the boards are not that old.  Any idea if there's a compatibility list somewhere?

I did contact Gigabyte Support about that, so we'll see.

be sure you plug in the PCIEX16 slot and the bios find the "Init Display First" and marks the PEG option.
I do not think the motherboards are not compatible've read enough online and the problem is that people always connect in PCIEX4 (why has the freeze but in my case the bios not let me change the option PEG)

If this does not work, try reading this thread and still other options.

It's plugged in PCIE 16X (same as where my 660Ti was), and even if I choose PEG in the boot options, it's either gonna revert to Auto if the ipgu is enabled or I'll get the beeps if the igpu is disabled.

I finally got it working!!!! ;D

I'm still not 100% sure how though as I tried so many things, but I think it's this option in the bios:
M.I.T. -> Miscellaneous Settings -> Peg Gen3 Configuration -> Set to Gen3 (instead of Auto).

In addition, I disabled the igpu and set the Init to PEG.  Not sure if that was necessary, but I don't wanna change anything in this fragile setup!
