Error with BIOS and CMOS

Error with BIOS and CMOS
« on: September 26, 2016, 05:01:29 pm »
Hellow, so today i orderd my first gaming pc! i was really happy until i tried messing with it, so i started messing with it because i was having problems opening up BIOS. everytime i restarted my computer ( i held shift while restarting also ) i spammed, i held onto all the keys imaginable while my computer was restarting to try to open up the bios ( it kinda worked it showed up the big pointer arrow that BIOS has but after that it turned pitch black. so after that i started looking for tutorials on what i could do to make it work, so i found a "brilliant" tutorial, remove de CMOS he said, after i removed the cmos when i turn on my computer it apears the gigabyte logo and pitch black it goes, nothing happens.
i dont have pendrive or a cd reader i can use, i can probably get a pendrive easily,
what can i do to get this to work? i need help i have been the past 9 HOURS working on this looking at a black screen cannot help but shed some tears.
specs: processor intel i5-4440 motherboard GIGABYTE GA-B85M-D3PH, CHIPSET B85 gpu gigabyte gtx 950 2x 4gb ram kingston HyperX
what do i have to do? i didnt not understand what i did, and i found no explanation for what happend either besides that i cleared the CMOS, i thought my BIOS was locked and i had to clear the CMOS to be able to access the BIOS again.
i have the graphics card and the mother board's cd's with me, if i have to use them can i it be done with a pendrive?
any help would be insanely appreciated!

Greetings,
The standard way to access the BIOS is with the "DEL" key.

After pressing power, you can tap the DEL key.  Tap, pause, tap, pause until the BIOS displays.  If this doesn't work for you, let us know.

i have tried everything you can imagine sir,
it looks like it will load BIOS it shows that amplified arrow cursor that it usually shows with BIOS,
but as soon as that happens it goes into black screen, i have tried waiting for over 2hrs to no avail.

maybe this info might help, or might be completly useless.
when it goes into blackscreen the computer turn of in just one click on the power off button, usually i would have to hold it for a few seconds to turn off.

( besides that i haven't seen anything diffrent or special happen )

Greetings,
Did you build this system yourself from components or buy it assembled pre-built?  What kind of mouse, keyboard and display are you using?

If purchased prebuilt, were you given install media.  USB or DVD media?

it was built and was working fine when i got it,
my issue was that i could not access the bios to enable the onboard so i can use my monitor because it came with video output on the gpu.
( because my monitor is vga input and my gpu doesnt accept that kind of input only hdmi )
so i reset the cmos because tutorials online told me to do so, after i reset it seems like i do not have an operational system anymore, i downloaded an OS to my pendrive but i havent tried installing it yet because i dont know if that is the problem, and if that will solve it.

the gigabyte loading screen shows up for about 1 sec, then a big white pointer shows up in the middle of the screen and a blinking "I" like the console ones, so i have no idea if it loads the console for a split second or the bios.

i believe that my build came withough bios ( if possible? )
and that's why i had all thos trouble accessing it.

my next step to try is reinstalling everything as if it was a new build.
will it work?

So i sent it back and they told me the problem was that the motherboard battery stopped working,
i felt the need to inform what my problem was because maybe someone tried resetting the BIOS through cmos also and has the same problem as me.

Good to know.  Thanks for the follow up post.  Too bad you had to return the system for a 50 pence battery.  Hopefully you'll have better luck with the next unit.
