Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2H freezes in sleep and sometimes with power off

Hi,

i've build a brand new desktop pc with the following components:

- Intel Pentium G4500
- Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2H
- Crucial MX300 2.5" 275 GB
- Inter-Tech WN-51 draco housing
- Samsung S24E650PL
- Crucial CT2K4G4DFS8213 (2x 4GB DDR4)
- be quiet! System Power B8 300W

I have the strange problem that the pc freezes in sleep mode, but it doesn't do this always. I've turned the C6 and C7 mode off in BIOS but this didn't make any difference. What can be the problem here?

What i also encouter is that when i power off the pc sometimes the power led remains on for hours, meaning that the pc won't completely shut down. I personally think both issues are linked.

I've upgraded all my drivers and BIOS firmware to be sure. This still didn't make any difference.

Hope you can help me out cause it's really annoying and i've lost some documents a few times

Power supply that meets specification 12v 2.0 (or later version) and provides a minimum power of 350 watts is recommended for a fully configured system.

Looks as if your choice of power supply just doesn't have enough power to run the system reliably.
1) GA-Z97X-Gaming 7, G3258,
2) GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev. 1.1, FX-8350
3) GA-AM1M-S2P, Sempron 3850 Kabini

Correct me if wrong but if that were the question I would expect the PC hang in full load and not in sleep mode where it uses very little to none power.

And when I calculate, I'm in need of 150W or so with full load and I'm having 300W, so plenty of reserve I'd say.

I'd start here:

Crucial MX300 2.5" 275 GB

I'm not saying this is your problem, but its worth looking into.  If this is the same series..  Some SandForce controllers were having problems with resume from sleep. Make sure this applies to your hardware..  I am not a fan of Crucial and don't keep up with their hardware.

Legacy Products > Crucial M4 2.5

Release Date: 04/02/2013

Firmware 070H is recommended for anyone currently running 040H or previous firmware releases. It includes incremental improvements and refinements over these versions which may improve the overall user experience.

Like recent firmware versions, version 070H has improvements over versions 000F which are specific for Windows 8 and new UltraBook systems, although systems running Windows 7 and other operating systems may also see improvements. Any m4 firmware version will function normally in Windows 8, even without these performance improvements.

The following is a summary of changes between 040H and 070H, which are independent of operating system:
•Resolved a power-up timing issue that could result in a drive hang, resulting in an inability to communicate with the host computer. The hang condition would typically occur during power-up or resume from Sleep or Hibernate. Most often, a new power cycle will clear the condition and allow normal operations to continue. The failure mode has only been observed in factory test. The failure mode is believed to have been contained to the factory. This fix is being implemented for all new builds, for all form factors, as a precautionary measure. The fix may be implemented in the field, as desired, to prevent occurrence of this boot-time failure. To date, no known field returns have been shown to be related to this issue. A failure of this type would typically be recoverable by a system reset.

Additional details can be found in the firmware guide
