PCIe SSD on Ga-F2A88XM-D3H
« on: January 02, 2017, 08:32:22 pm »
Hi I have an M.2 SSD (SATA) installed as boot drive, and works ok. I am trying to set up a PCIe SSD connected to the PCIex16 Slot.
I can see the drive in File Explorer, I have formatted it and installed Win 10 on it. I can examine the contents etc, and all appears normal.
I tried to set it as boot drive, but BIOS does not see this drive at all. I have the latest BIOS installed (not the Beta).
I have contacted Tech Sepp, and they sent a BIOS upgrade labelled A88XD3HP, but my board is D3H. I tried to install this but Q-Flash reported file error. (The file unzips as - A88DX3HP) and only 1 file instead of the usual 3 on a BIOS upgrade.
So my question is, is there an update for the NVME type of drives for this board?
I have listed my rig below:

Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H   -  F9 BIOS
AMD A10-7870
I use the R7 Graphics on chip
Boot drive: Crucial M.2 Sata SSD 525Gb
2 x 500Gb WD Sate Drives in Raid 0 (Data Backup)
Kingston 120 Gb SSD (Data)
4 x 4Gb Crucial memory
Intel 512Gb M.2 PCIe SSD yet to be resolved!!

I have the same mobo in my Media Centre machine, but no PCIE SSD installed. Maybe have a look at this great thread:
http://www.win-raid.com/t871f16-Guide-How-to-get-full-NVMe-support-for-Intel-Chipset-systems-from-Series-up-75.html#msg33990

It worked for my old Z77 in which i succesfully installed a Samsung SM961 256GB.

Good luck
