Enabling VT-d on a GA-EX58-UD3R (1.6)
« on: January 03, 2017, 12:17:04 am »
Hey,

I have a GA-EX58-UD3R (1.6) - pretty old now I know - and I'm looking to enable VT-d if possible. It doesn't seem to be an option by default though I've seen others on this forum that have done this by flashing a custom/beta BIOS which activates the option.

Does anyone know if a BIOS exists that would allow me to do this?

Thanks!

If VT-d is supported by the CPU, but is not a option in the factory BIOS, it cannot be enabled unless you flash a custom BIOS supporting this feature as you mentioned.  TweakTown is probably your best bet.

FK2 (09/27/2011) BIOS with VT-d for EX58-UD3R (rev 1.6)
https://1fichier.com/?xobw20ivgo

This came from Gigabyte tech support. The newest BIOS (FK, 02/29/2012) doesn't seem to have VT-d, but FK2 does, even though it's older. Press CTRL + F1 in the main menu of the BIOS to reveal the hidden menu, which should be Advanced Chipset Features> VT-d.

Apologies for bumping this old thread, but I was looking for this option for a long time, so hopefully this helps someone else.
