BSOD quoting L163x64 Connected with BullGuard and Atheros Adaptor

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (L1C62x64.sys)

Can anyone shed light on a BSOD problem that is occurring on a Windows 10 x64 bit computer. It also occurred on a the previous OS windows 7
I have been getting some support from BullGuard but the tasks provided by the tech team did not work for me; were blocked as unsafe or the restore points did not restore etc. I can supply the instructions if required.

As a computer dabbler I get the impression I need a different driver for the Network adaptor or something in BullGuard is incompatible.  Is there a better driver? The BSOD is not foreseeable and occurs whilst on line [of course].  It used to reboot itself but does not do that now.  The PC is on 24/7. Windows says the best driver is installed. Driver date 01/04/2014 Version 2.1.0.16.
I would be happy to supply more info. if it is required.

Thanking you.

Had problems in windows 7 and now in windows 10.  What's the common denominator here?

Remove BullGuard from your system and enable windows defender.  What are the results?

If you feel like you must use AV software, try AVG Free or aVast.  They have paid versions as well.  The software firewall built into both operating systems provides adequate protection in the majority of situations.  Practicing safe browsing habits and using common sense also applies.  If you have kids, limited user account, a good free AV software, training and supervision works well.  Don't let your kids use the system you are performing your banking on.  Perform regular data back ups and let them learn.  Have a problem, get a virus...  restore from back up and don't sweat the small stuff.   ;)

Thank you shadowsports for this. Well that IS the obvious answer but I use this PC for security; it is on 24/7 and I need to feel that it is as good as I can get.  My engineer persuaded me to use Defender but that allowed a trojan on my mouse exe. I have used Bullguard for over 9 years and have developed a trust for their support.  The problem seems to be in the driver for the Atheros Adaptor which has not been updated for 4 years. [?] Qualcomm do not supply updates to end users you have to get them from Gigabyte. Have you seen the Gygabyte support form ? I cannot face shifting everything to get into my PC to find the serial number, as I have very little room....and time.  Looks like I have to bite that bullet.
