Just a thought but......
as Gigabyte is now so willing to promote overclocking on its boards, does this mean it will extend the warranty for any mishaps?
Or are they still holding the official line that they do not support overclocking? If that is the case it's a bit of a contradiction, don't you think!

You have to be kidding me right?
Intel warrants that chips will run at certain ratings, and of course there is plenty of leeway built-in, yet they are most certainly within their rights to object to any claim for using a product beyond spec no? Indeed it is most prudent
Why would any hardware company give carte blanche to anyone overtly and aggressively "trying" to explore the outer limits of a product?
Just because manufacturers cater to the demands of many of us, does not mean they are willing to commit economic suicide I bet.
Generally speaking, "good companies" alert customers to the perils of misuse mainly to protect themselves from fools who tamper with things beyond their ken, however "good companies" are also smart enough to have some flexibility and generally speaking treat issues on their merits.
I would "hope" Gigabyte is such a company, and I would imagine that if you returned a product which was faulty, irrespective of what clocking adventures you had embarked on, provided there was clearly no evidence of user culpability in whatever the "fault" was, your case would be treated on its merits.
Now of course like you, I am just someone who uses a GA product, I have no idea what "official" line GA might have, but I have come to expect a certain level of customer support and quality from them over the years, and while I doubt GA (or any other company) is ever going to indemnify us against "mishaps", I would be fairly confident any product which is demonstrably "faulty" would be dealt with as we would expect
Common sense I believe is the issue here, if some stuff "breaks" or "dies" due to manufacturing fault or other failure, we deserve redress, if it by misadventure of our own causing, surely we would be barking mad to even contemplate asking anyone other than ourselves to shoulder the blame.
