Hi Everyone,

I just built a new computer with a GA-P55A-UD3, and it locks-up randomly every hour or so. If I stress it with SisSandra Burn-In test, it locks up after 1 few minutes.

Also, when I was installing Windows 7, it took about 2 minutes for each installation screen to switch to the next one, and usually this process is always very quick on other computers. Is this an indication that there's something wrong?

I've tried testing memory with memtest86, replacing memory with another brand, adjusting memory clock/voltages, replacing hard-drive, doing raid1/raid0, updated BIOS to latest one. No luck so far.

Here's my specs:

P55A-UD3
Memory: tried CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
AND G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (lots of people on NewEgg reported this G.Skill to work well with mobo)
HD: tried Raptor 150Gb, AND WD 1Tb drives
PSU ANTEC|EA650 RT
CPU INTEL|CORE I5 750 2.66G R
VGA EVGA|01G-P3-1158-TR GTS250 RT

Is there anything else i can try? Any settings on the Motherboard that I can adjust?

Please help.

Thank You

It sounds like it might be an overheating problem. Did you put paste between the cpu and hsf? What cooling do you have in the case?

Thanks for the suggestion.

I don't think it's overheating related because the case was open when I was running tests, and the CPU heatsink was firmly attached to the CPU. I just removed the CPU and put it back on it just to check, everything looks fine, the original Intel thermal paste is evenly spread over top of the CPU.

New Development:
I was running the Sis Sandra on the computer for about 4 hours, and it suddenly shut down, and wouldn't boot anymore. When i hit the power button, it just powers on for about 2 seconds (all fans spinning), then shuts off, then in 5 seconds it powers on for 2 seconds again, and shuts off... goes like that in circles.

I've tried removing everything off the motherboard, only left the 8pin and 32pin?(larger) power cables, and it still does the same thing. Also tried switching the memory... no luck. PSU is a new Antec 650, I tested it and voltages are all stable.

Anything else I can try before RMAing the board to Gigabyte? How long does their RMA usually takes?

Thank You!

The only other thing is that it could be a PSU fault. Even though you said it is a new Antec 650 it may be having an over heating or intermittent problem. There again it could be down to the motherboard. You didn't tighten the CPU heatsink down too much when you installed it possibly? Sometimes this can cause a break in the motherboard tracks and have a similar effect as you are describing.
