Browser Configuration Utility

Do anyone out there in the Gigabyte community use the BCU program ?  It does seem to speed browsing up quite a bit. Some say that it's spyware or malware. After reading a bit about the DeviceVM program which there isn't much available. I believe that does make a difference in performance when browsing. Would someone expound on this. Thank you in advance

Bcu.exe with description Browser Configuration Utility is a process file from company DeviceVM, Inc. belonging to product Browser Configuration Utility.

In short this BCU program speeds up the browsing process or suppose to anyway. I did a clean install without the BCU program and things did run somewhat slower even thoough I'm using a RAID 0 config.

I don't know because this is the first time I have heard of this program but I would think it is just some sort of glorified cache. I don't see how else it would "speed up" browsing. I would also be concerned about whether it was collecting or sending information back about my browsing habits.

The Browser Configuration Utility is another one of those apps that comes on the motherboard install disk and I haven't actually used it. From the read me file it says that it supports Internet Explorer Browser 6, 7 & 8. I tried to install it, just now but as I am runninga beta version of  IE9 it didn't recognise it and actually slowed down the browser.

I can't find out much about this programme but would think, like DM has said, that it is a glorified cache that keeps your browsing history and accesses it to help speed up the browsing process.

It doesn't appear to impinge on any other aspect of the PC configuration, as far as I can notice, so I am not sure why you feel it helps speed up your overall PC performance.

It appears to. I don't really know this to be true that's why I was checking to see if anyone else has used it to disprove or prove it's claim. I said it seems like it did once I performed a clean install without the BCU program there seems to be a slight degradation in performance without it. I don't have any data or benchmark of sorts to back that up.
