EP41-UD3L AHCI Mode

EP41-UD3L AHCI Mode
« on: October 25, 2010, 10:23:58 pm »
Hi,

I have an EP41-UD3L board and have recently bought an OCZ Vertex 2 SSD. I would like to set the board to run in AHCI mode but there is no option in the bios to set it. The option would normally be under Integrated Peripherals (I think). I would be surprised if it does not support it as AHCI has been around for ages and is not an old model board.

Does anyone know how to enable it or if it is even possible?

Thanks

Hugh

I have checked for you and there is nowhere in the BIOS to enable the AHCI configuration mode for your SSD. The manual does make references to AHCI mode but I think that is just in general. I would be inclined to ask GGTS just to make sure anyway.

You can't use AHCI on this board, it is a budget model due to chipset G41 instead of G45 or P45, and thus uses ICH7 not ICH7R or above.
