GA-880GA-UD3H Utility Disc
« on: November 06, 2010, 02:41:42 am »
Okay, so I somehow managed to get this system built without ever sticking the CD that came with the motherboard in, until just now.  I see there are just scads of things on there, and wonder if anyone feels any of them are necessary, or even compelling?

I did download and install all the drivers on the motherboard support page, and there are no missing driver (yellow exclamation mark) symbols in Device Manager.

So, any real gems on that disc?  Or do I just "file it" away?  Best way to find out?

Thanks...

Hi,
I have just taken delivery of a new Mobo and the first thing I always do is "Humanely Dispose" of the Install Disk and I can't remember the last time I actually used one. Is there anything useful on there.... Well, I guess it's what you call useful but there is nothing on that that I would use on a regular basis. I occasionally use EasyTune6, when testing but never for any regular Overclocking or monitoring.

If you want to clog up your PC with any of the Utilities you can download the latest version from the Gigabyte Website.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

I hold the same view of all these "free" motherboard utilities that come bundled with the boards. Most of them do nothing really useful and some are a downright disaster. This is the same with other makes as well as Gigabyte. They are really just "extra value" packaging so that you think you are getting more for your money. ;)

Okay, thanks for confirming my inclinations, guys.  I'd really forgotten it was even there, until I went to hack up the box for the rebate, and not being that familiar with Gigabyte yet thought I'd ask.  :)
