Yes what cchaos said should work if you hold CTRL and then use the mouse wheel.

Actually Ive just tested it under IE 6 (yes, the version that originally came with Windows XP) but the ctrl and scroll doesnt work in it. Hmm. I know I managed to zoom in on IE before (and Im certain it was that method)

However, under FireFox the zoom-in function works (unless the font thats been typed is ridiculously tiny like some in the first page)

Just tried it in IE8 and it works perfectly but as you said maybe not in IE6. I did think it worked there as well to be honest.

You can change font size in each page if you know little bit HTML.Login as administrator in the back end ->go to the page where you want to change font size ->click on HTML->This opens the page in HTML document.There you can put font-size:12px; or what ever you want and just click update and then save the page.
