ga-945p-s3 ram problem

ga-945p-s3 ram problem

i have 4gb ram (2x2gb kingston 6400) and in properties of my computer i see that i have only 3.25gb of ram..

my motherboard can have up to 4gb of ram when the OS is 64bit and i have installed windows 7 ultimate 64bit..


so what's the problem and how can i fix it??

Even though you are now running a 64 bit version of your OS that allows you to use the full amount of memory as opposed to the 32 bit version which limits you to roughly what you are seeing now, other things can use up part of the actual memory you have installed. It could be that the GPU is claiming some for it's own use. Certain legacy systems tend to grab some too.

my gpu is 2gb by itself and it's not on board.. i don't think gpu is the problem

If you have a later graphics card they usuially have their own dedicated onboard memory as your has. The system will use up a certain amount on other things though. There is no problem just normal.
