Gigabyte Z68-UD7-B3 getting "FF" but nothing on the monitor

I am building a new system using a Gigabyte Z68-UD7-B3 motherboard.  In case it matters, the other new compnonets (which are all new are):

Intel i7 2600k CPU
16 GB of DDR3 RAM
GT550TI video card
Carsair liquid cooler
1000W PSU
120 GB SATA III SSD

Upon turning on the system, the motherboard's LED display goes through a variety of number and finally remains on "FF".

However, I do not get anything on the monitor.  Ive tried both DVI outputs on the video card and two different monitors (all of which work properly.. I use them on my old computer).

MY guiess is that the issue is with the video card.. but I'm not sure.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte forum.

I would certainly think it is much more likely to be a graphics card fault as the motherboard POST has checked everything and finished with the passed code. Just a stab in the dark but you have inserted both the power plugs into the graphics card haven't you ?

I think though the first thing to do would be to clear the CMOS just in case it is a setting that is causing the problem.

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.

Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.

You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.

Led Msg : FF is that your motherboard run without problem

For graphics a good solution is to use an old PCI graphics card ( or also a basing PCI-e graphic card ) with the monitor connected to this

Start install ...

Look when serach drivers if your PCI-e card is detected ....

And connect another monitor at this time ....

Thank you ... that fixed it.
