RevoDrive 3 x2 The New Monster...... WITH TRIM ???
« on: August 14, 2011, 10:43:26 pm »

1500 MB/s Read!........1250 MB/s Write!...... Already shipping in the States via Amazon and Aria is taking pre-orders .....When do we get it!....But more importantly , what do we get for our money besides the measly 1.5TB read speeds.........."TRIM" Thats right, OCZ have cracked it on Raid!

OCZ's proprietary Virtualized Controller Architecture 2.0 (VCA) technology has brought Trim to Raid.......At last!

                                                          Read about it here!

Hi Allan

I knew it was due out any time now but more importantly how much do we have to pay for these benefits ? Somehow I doubt that they will come cheap.

That RevoDrive 3 X2 is very very impressive. I read in an article that to get those great speeds the 480G model in recommended .
I also noticed these.
http://www.supertalent.com/products/ssd_category_detail.php?type=RAIDDrive

Still the speeds can go to 6GB/s and a whooping 5 TB on a single PCIE x16 2.0 card on a ioDrive Octal

Actually!... If my spy's are correct.......a tad more then you paid the first time for the X2 after the initial price drop ....(3 to 5 months)

Just as important......I think there will be a price drop for the x2 and scaling downwards for all OCZ product.....GEM!

And CosmicDust........Another Manufacturer to go head to head with OCZ.......let the flood gates open......all good for the consumer.

Well that's the thing because using an ordinary SSD you are limited to the SATA saturation point and that is becoming a reality now. The PCIE lanes can offer far more bandwidth even whilst using  graphics cards as well.

I have just been looking around and found that my usual supplier has one in stock. Now do I throw caution to the winds and buy it or stay alive ?

Holy rap batman!......... that price cant be right.....Aria have the lower non x2 (RevoDrive 3) at £416 ex vat......(£499 incl)
OCZ RevoDrive 3 / 240GB PCI-Express Solid State Hard Drive ..........Maximum Read: 1000MB/sec, Maximum Write: 900MB/sec, 130,000 IOPS, 3 Years Warranty.........Thats a 25% performance gain over the current X2 model for similar Spodulie

I see Ebuyer dropping this price by easily 50% in the first 6 months.......this is for the 240 GB model though......wait till the 120s hit the shelves.

Yes it was also for 240GB with 1500 and 1300 read and write speeds. 200,000 IOPS that is some speed!

Wait till IBIS kicks in properly..... there single Aluminum 3.5" Ibis drive pushes out 690 and 760 per drive....same as the Revox2...... but this is just one box!

The PCI-E link card that comes bundled in the box you throw away and buy the cheap4 port Ibis card for under 50 pounds and raid them!........I,ll let you do the maths and salivate on your own keyboard ;)

Only one question.....

how long will it take for the BIOS to catch up for these beasts?

Hopefully once the EFI gets properly sorted out it will be a bit faster starting and smother running. Mind my system only takes roughly 20 odd seconds to boot from pushing the buttton to a usable desktop which isn't bad going now.

I notice the new boards get the extra speed by using a different Sandforce chip the 2281 as opposed to the 1222 on our boards.
