Hi everybody,
I'm trying to make an overclock configuration with my new hardware composed by a Z68K-UD5-B3 and 2500K. I flashed BIOS at F8 version (last version found on USA site).

I have a lot of trouble and questions:

Actually my stable configuration is:

- Internal PLL Overvolt - Enable
- Turbo Mode - Disable
- EIST, C1, C3, C6, Thermal Control, Bidirectional ProcHOT are Disable
- Virualization is Disable


- CPU multiplier is x43
- BLCK Control is disable

- VCore Voltage: 1.25
- PLL Voltage: 1.90
- QPI/VTT voltage: 1.10

- Load Line Calibration is at Level 7

all other Voltage settings are AUTO.

In this way my system is Stable but when I try to run Prime95, the CPU multiplier value changes when CPU is in full Load... why? I think I have to change the TPL value (default is 95w) but BIOS doesn't let me to modify this value without enabling Intel Turbo Mode...

Moreover I haven't understood how LoadLine Calibration works, with my old Mobo (Socket LGA 755) LoadLine values were Enabled or Disabled..now I have 10 different values (from Level 1 to Level 10) but ... I don't known what is the best value I should choose...

Last but not the Least...with this configuration, my core temperatures reach 69,69,72,75 (respectively) in full load with Prime95 and Linx... I think they are a little bit hot...my dissipator is a Mugen2B and I think it is one of best air dissipator...

Are you suggestions for me in order to make a better OC configuration? Moreover I'm looking for a good monitoring software for CPU and Mobo temps/volts, now I'm using EasyTune 6 but It is no so flexible for my purposes.

Little Update:

I tried many solutions and now I reach stability with following parameters:

PLL 1.88
QPI/VTT 1.10
VCore 1.24
LLC 8
Internal PLL Overvolt Enable
Turbo Mode Enable with Fixed multiplier for all four cores (43,43,43,43)

Linx runs fine without errors and temperatures are diminished to 65,70,67,71

I still have problem with Prime95... when I run it my multiplier are changed when CPU is in full load...

Moreover I have some problem with Intel Extreme Tuning utility, it couldn't recognize CPU temp of my board..
mmm I thing that Z68 chipset is not supported well by all diagnostic softwares..

Hi

Obviously make sure that you have downloaded all the most recent versions of the programs that you are using for reporting. Also if one program sounds suspiciously out check it with another.

I was able to get my 2500k stable at 4.6Ghz with a CPU VCC at 1.35 and running my RAM at 1.54.
I have a Zalman 9500CNPS on top of mine and my temps are 28c idle and 70c using Intel Burn Test.

I use CoreTemp to measure the temps they have a new version that is compatible with the SB.
I use CPU-Z to check my RAM and CPU settings.

Turbo - Disable
PLL Overvolt - Enable
PLL - 1.80
LLC - 10
RAM VCC - 1.54
VCore - 1.35
Everything else AUTO

No matter what I do I can't go any further. X47 sets me into a constant reboot. I'm happy at 4.6 so I'm not going to push it.

Im runing at 4.7, just change the cpu clock voltage and put the core on 1.35..
One question , why u disable the turbo? and is better change the cpu clock or turbo ratio core?

     The second most important component when clocking is your memory , it's voltage and timings.......you haven't mentioned it once ?

  breaking out and over 4.7 ..... memory always is in the equation  Wink

Just wanted to know how you go about setting load line calibration?.. I'm currently o/c'ing my 2600k to 4.5ghz with the same motherboard and dont know what to set llc on? its actually named as multi-steps load line under my bios.

I got two 2500Ks at 4.2 just by disabling turbo, changes in OS (why your may have changed), everything else on default/Auto with XMP enabled.  I could do 4.6 with aggressive settings (fixed voltage, LLC) but it isn't worth it to me (I'll revisit that if my CPU is ever pegged).

You may want to see what it can do "near-stock" first, go from there.
