GA-H61M-DS2-B3 work ok, with the CPU i5-2500k?

Hy,
I want a cheaper system (not too cheaper ).
I want to know it is ok the motherboard from Gigabyte H61M-DS2-B3 with the CPU i5-2500k?
I do not use the CPU to make overclocking (never).
I want to use the Intel HD Graphics 3000 on the CPU, for this reason I have chosen i5-2500k (not i5-2400 or 2300).
I do not want to talk about other components such as: RAM, Cooler, case, PSU ....
I don't need: SATA 3, USB 3.0, RAID, discrete graphic card.
My question is: i5-2500k and GA-H61M-DS2-B3 work well together or give conflicts? Can you suggest me, another cheap motherboard?

The first thing that I don't understand is why you want to pay extra for and use a 2500K when you have stated that you don't want to overclock at all ? That is wasting money for no reason.

Why not just buy the 2500 or one of the other models that are not multiplier unlocked as they are cheaper ?

If you are dead set on the 2500K then there is no reason it won't work.

• to watch a movie or playing a normal game.

It's not the you can only use the i5 2500k for overclocking but you can get an i5 2500 which is cheaper but can't be over clocked. I think that is what Dark Mantis was referring to when he said that.

Can you also confirm the motherboard that you are talking about (or better still post a link to it) as I can't find it on the Gigabyte site.

Yes absic is quite correct as usual about what I meant. I was just trying to say there is no point in paying extra for a CPU that supports overclocking if you don't want to use that feature. You can save about £10 by buying the 2500 with the multiplier locked or even more by purchasing the 2400 or something similar.

Meanwhile I bought the components and the motherboard GA-H61M-S2-B3 seems to work ok with the processor i5-2400.

I am afraid that you should have been a little more accurate when phrasing your question then ieseanul as the original post asks if the i5 2500K works with that motherboard which is a totally different CPU/ question.
