I've seen this and other posts maybe twenty times in the last 4 days ......"BF3 Crashing....HELP ME" this is happening across many cards

People just assume that because one person posted .....Fixed !......0.05V increase.....that it's definitely a manufacturers  issue or problem.

So why is it that it;s only with the Multi-player version of BF3.......this most probably, ....almost definitely a BF3 multi-player version issue.

If there was as much noise at the software vender's/writers door step......a fix would come all the sooner!

It should not be Gigabytes, Zotac or any-other card manufacturer problem ........ increasing voltage above design spec adds heat.....heat mean more cards fail.......which means money.

The people that need to fix the problem is the game writers EA and DICE

Guys just want to let you know of a solution that has fixed my crashing ( I had complete system freeze with in minutes in BF3 constantly with the gigabyte gfx560ti OC)

Using the latest MSI Afterburner I raised the voltage to 1050. That's it.
Card still runs cool (max temp 59)
Not one crash for many hours now.
I didn't flash bios either.

drivers 285.62

  Welcome again Keytay

Using the latest MSI Afterburner I raised the voltage to 1050. That's it.

Yes it does work as has been reported .... although it is a worrying trend that it's the only game out there that requires extra voltage over the system manufacture recommended spec just to get the game to run with no BSODs.....and yes the temps are still good but the voltage for these chips are already on a knife edge.........it would be far better for the game coders to  look into why it stresses the system so much.

I don't think Dice is the only one to blame here Allan, but they should be looking into it for sure.
Just search around and you'll see that this card is a problem child and crashes in many other games not just bf3.

Are any of you guys using Firefox as your default browser? If not, download and try that. It seems to work for me :-)

 http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/products/download.html?product=firefox-3.6.24&os=win&lang=en-US

Launching the game through Internet Explorer could very well be the culprit in this case?? Could be wrong.....

From the complaints I have seen, a lot of people have had PC freeze ups, and other troubles after the Back to Karkland add-on pack was installed.

It is probably a combination of factors and that is why only some people get the problem while others run the program quite happily. I would agree with Allan though that it is basically down to the Frostbite 2 engine and have noticed that there are many similar problems with Need for Speed - The Run which uses the same.
